My Granadas
Over the years I have owned quite a few Granadas. The first was a 1979 2.8i Ghia Estate (Mk2 pre-facelift).
The next was a stop-gap 2.8 GL Mk II and then the Mk II 2.8 Injection. After that I had a Miami blue 3 litre coupé.
Those of you in the Granada Guild will know the car as it was the one owned by Sam & Denise Ireland.
Over their years of ownership it had collected numerous awards and trophys.
The car was Miami blue with a Marquis grey interior and the original colour-coded wheel trims.
Having only covered 37,000 miles since new, it was in excellent original condition.
I had to do the following: new carb (manual choke), radiator core, vacuum pipes, exhaust system,
prop-shaft coupling, kenlowe fan (the viscous coupling was siezed in the standard one), gearbox modulator
(it was sucking transmission fluid into the inlet manifold) and a new set of tyres.
After the sale of the blue one I had a 2.9 Scorpio for a few years and have now changed completely and have a 5 series beemer.
