Slap bang in the Dram Car business Ford and Ghia came up at the 1977 Geneva show with the Megastar. It was based on the three-litre
Granada saloon, and the body was built directly to a Granada floor pan with the V6 engine remaining in place and driving the rear
wheels through an automatic gerabox. Only the rear screen opened and the glass of the whole car was copper tinted. The front was
extended to give a good aerodynamic shape and the square rear tail was designed to help high speed directional stability, fuel
economy and parking. The rear bumper was filled with absorbant foam.
