I just inherited a 1978 ford granada with only 16000 original miles...no rust , no body damage, everything is in excellent shape...wondering where I can sell it? It is in too good of condition for me to scrap it or let it go, I would like it to be kept in the same condition...

H i had a Consul Mk1 which I fitted a 3.0s Capri and gearbox to back in 1983 and it was stolen a week later. Have wanted a Granada MK1 since and am considering buying a MK 1 3.0 Ghia Coupe very soon. how much would I expect to pay for a non runner that needs full respray. How difficult is it to get parts? I have found one but battling with head and heart at the moment.

Hi, Enjoyed the site. Great cars the Granada and Consul. Good to see Sweeny is back on TV too. I have inspected and valued a number of Granadas recently and think their values are about to rise...about time as they are great and so under rated in the UK. Although, its good that they are not too expensive and true enthusiast can still afford them (forgive the pun !). I'm not advertising (well not too much), but take a look at my website. Thanks. Hi. Need help - I was involved in the May 1972 launch of the Grenada at Berkeley Square. I worked for Ford at the time. Was at the launch (7 months pregnant!) so they used me to show the 700 men at the press launch just how roomy the Granada was by showing me getting in and out of the driver's seat! I am trying to put a family book together and as this is one of my very small claims to fame, I wonder if anyone has any photos of this very pregnant woman on the stage with the 2 new Granadas please? My name at the time was Sue Soanes, I lived in Brentwood and was taken from Fords at Warley, via rally car, to Berkeley Square, London. I worked with a guy called Alan Flanagan. Ford were really good to me, they delivered whiskey and a note to my home to tell my hubby where I was then at the end of the night, put me in a taxi all the way back to Brentwood! Next day a huge bouquet was delivered to me. Thank you Ford for an unforgettable experience. Happy memories. Sue Gallagher (nee Soanes)

Hello from sunny Cyprus! After a gap of 25 years and a relocate from UK, I now have my second Granada Mk1. This one is a 2500 GXL from 1972, 4-speed manual gearbox, Miami Blue paintwork. I'd forgotten how American a Granada feels when you drive it, but then I have driven a lot of American cars in the years since my Olympic Blue 1976 3.0GL auto!

I remember the MkI Granada and the Consul derivative being a familiar sight on Britain's roads back in the 70s. By the late 70s the MkII was a familiar sight on Britain's roads. By the latter half of the 80s and in the 90s the MkIII was. That was then this is now. I am probably not likely to see such a car in a street of my home city of Leicester for a while. Where are they now? Do they fit in amongst 21st century traffic? Ford seem to have made better cars since the last Scorpio was made probably in 1998. Incidentally, speaking of which, I do believe the MkIII was marketed as the Scorpio on the continent. Then why not in the UK? After all, the Sierra wasn't marketed as the MkVI Cortina! As for the MkI, it was my favourite model back in 1977. Probably because of the popularity of Ford and the Granada being the biggest. As far as I was concerned it was the current model until September 13 that year. I am featured on the BBC website and anxious to bring my weblinks to everyone's attention. To access the other information simply visit Google and search the web for any (or preferably each) one of the following:- lunar mountaineering The Earthlight in the lunar night wreck of Luna 2 motionized paintings dent resistant bodywork
